The Winchester School

Programs

Winchester offers engaging, well-rounded programs that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and support each student’s academic, social, and personal growth.

Ages Served

At The Winchester School, we welcome children from Preschool (age 3) through Second Grade — including Pre-K3, Pre-K4, Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade.

Children must reach the appropriate age by September 1st of the school year, for enrollment into classes, though exceptions may be made based on maturity and readiness at the Director’s discretion.

We provide a nurturing, academically focused environment where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to explore. From their very first day, our goal is simple — to help children love learning and build the confidence to grow, discover, and thrive.

Our mission is to foster a love of learning and curiosity while ensuring that children in our care are happy and prepared for academic excellence. We know the more fun you build into your teaching, the more likely the child will actively engage in what is being taught; so, we bring the FUN into everything we do!

Pre-K 4yr olds

Our four-year-olds build on the previous year’s program by expanding their Spanish vocabulary, learning letters and sounds, beginning simple reading and writing, mastering numbers 1–100, and engaging in music, games, movement, and art.

Our kindergarteners build on prior learning by forming and reading simple Spanish words and sentences, exploring familiar stories in Spanish, and practicing math concepts including counting, writing numbers to 50, and basic addition and subtraction.

First & Second Grade

Each grade at Winchester builds on prior Spanish learning as students expand reading, writing, grammar, math, and vocabulary skills across everyday topics, culminating in real-world practice using their Spanish knowledge.

Art & Music

Children naturally respond to music and art with openness and creativity, and gentle, informed guidance helps nurture and shape their expressive potential.Art and music are integral to all cultures, sparking imagination and creativity from an early age. Students begin with the basics of color, rhythm, and simple techniques, gradually expanding their skills through various artistic mediums and musical exploration. As they grow, they learn to see how art and music reflect history, emotion, and storytelling, fostering self-expression and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Indoor | Outdoor | Guided Play/PE

Physical activity is an important part of a child’s development and is incorporated into our daily schedule. We have both structured and unstructured play to ensure that gross motor skills are being met and developmentally expanded. We have a state-of-the-art playground and a black top for a variety of activities. On rainy or bad weather days we have a classroom designated for free play and indoor games. After school sports programs are also available for students who sign up.
